The Chalet

A family story of art, comfort, design and mountain magic

Home / The Chalet History

For my mother, Mia, Megève has always been more than a ski resort. It’s where art was meant to be shared, and mountains meant to be witnessed. This chalet has always been a fountain of inspiration, even when it was still property of a friend of hers. It was no white canvas, it was already filled with gems inspiring the visitors’ eyes. With my mother taking over, the art grew, adopting previous traditional design elements and adding her own touch, transforming the space into something bigger than tradition. Only after she had infused the place with her touch, did the chalet feel like home. And again she realised she had created something worth sharing.

Mornings begin with the aroma of crisp mountain air and freshly brewed coffee. Afternoons drift through a wine cellar with a collection that only my father, Alfredo could amass, while evenings might find you by the fire with a cocktail in the Winston Lounge or a challenger across the billiard table in the Hendry Billiard Hall. And like all true homes, it begins with a simple gesture, take off your shoes, slip into soft slippers and feel the warmth of the floor beneath you. This is barefoot luxury: comfort without pretense, elegance that invites ease, and the freedom to simply belong.

Here, the chalet is yours to host. Gather friends for a candlelit dinner in the dining room, lead an après-ski tasting in the wine cellar, or break from routine in the cinema room. In winter, the slopes await. In summer, the trails call your name. All year, what happens here stays in your heart forever…

Franco Noero

A Visionary in Contemporary Art

Franco Noero
Many of the art posters displayed throughout the rooms and chalet come from the world of gallerist and family friend Franco Noero, a leading figure in contemporary art. Through his eye and collaborations with visionary artists, we bring the spirit of his Turin gallery into Magic Megève Bois — a dialogue between art and life, where each artist memory reflects experimentation, emotion and the enduring friendship that connects our families.

Martino Gamper

Structural Artist

The work of Martino Gamper is woven throughout Magic Megève Bois. His chairs, tables and bookcases are scattered across rooms and salons, defining the chalet’s distinctive approach to woodwork and form. A central artist within our collection, Gamper brings a spirit of experimentation and craftsmanship that resonates deeply with the architecture of the house — where every curve, joint and surface speaks to his playful yet rigorous dialogue between design and art.
To stay in a Magic house is not to visit a property; it is to enter a story.

Guests are welcomed not as clients, but as part of the family, invited to share in the same joy that built these homes. Every table, sculpture, and book tells of those who believed in this vision — artists, friends, and loved ones who trusted that art and generosity could coexist. It is a living museum in the truest sense: a home where creation and affection breathe together.
